1月28日 Allegro Resort CozumelOnce again I was able to travel to a destination that allowed me to explore the underwater world. The snorkelling was great. On one of the days we, my wife and I took a catamaran to two of the reefs off of the west coast. The depth of the water was too great to interact with the fish. Some of them came up to swim with us. We did see fish, rays and wonderful corral formations.
What impressed us the most was a place called Playa Corona. When we got there, we put on our gear, walked down this narrow walk of sand bags into the water. The shore was too rough to walk in at any other point, because of all the corral. When we dove in, there was what we came to see. All kinds of various corral and fish species all in close proximity. WOW. We spent most of our day there. A couple of cold Cervesa and Nachos, the hot sun, and wonderful snorkelling, and shared with the one I love. What more could I ask for.
The snorkelling was pretty good just at the beach, at the resort. As soon as we stepped into the water we'd be greeted by fish. Some of them would circle us as if they were curious. On one occasion we came upon a four foot Barracuda. Unfortunately we didn't have the underwater camera with us that day. I didn't know whether to stay and watch this fierce looking creature or swim away in fear. We chose to watch this magnificent beauty.
I hope that you enjoy the photos that I posted. The camera wasn't able to pick up the true vibrant colours of the fish. You have to be there to appreciate the beauty. 6月9日 Hooked on SnorkellingIn February of 2003 I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I was able to share my adventure with my wife and kids. We had the time of our life! The weather was sunny and hot for our entire stay. The highlights of the trip were "SNORKELLING" just off of the sandy beaches, relaxing, being entertained with stage performances, communicating in a foreign language and sampling the great food. I would like to find other interesting tropical places to snorkel at. I'm planning to go to Cozumel in the near future. I 'm hoping that this location has just as much or more to offer me and my wife.
